Senior Resource Fair & FREE SHREDDING!

Friday, May 16 from 10am-12:30pm at the Community Center

The Senior Resource Fair provides valuable information and services for seniors, caregivers, and community members seeking resources for active aging and aging in place. This free event features health and wellness resources, senior support services, a special proclamation for Older Americans Month, and complimentary Via rides provided by the City of West Sacramento.

Bonus: Free Shredding! Each participant can bring up to 10 lbs of paper documents to be securely shredded, courtesy of the City of West Sacramento Sustainability Division.

Attendees can expect:

  • Senior Support Services: Information and guidance on senior-focused programs and services available locally.
  • Health & Wellness: Explore workshops, health screenings, and resources to promote healthy living and active aging.
  • Older Americans Month Proclamation: A brief ceremony and speech highlighting the contributions of older Americans in our community.
  • Light Snacks: Enjoy refreshments and networking opportunities with fellow attendees and community partners. 
  • FREE Via Rides: Receive a complimentary Via rideshare to and from the event courtesy of the City of West Sacramento

What We Do

West Sacramento Parks & Recreation consists of four separate functions: a Parks Division, Recreation Division, Early Learning Services, and our Tree Program. The Parks Department provides recreation and leisure opportunities with its park facilities and recreation programming. These programs are designed to help local residents improve their overall health and quality of life.

Parks, Recreation & Intergenerational Services Commission

Parks, Recreation & Intergenerational Services Commission Meetings are generally held on the 1st Tuesday of every even numbered month.

How to Participate

  • Fill out a Request to Speak card (located at the entrance to the Council Chambers) and give it to the Clerk
  • Provide your comment in advance via email

Comments received by 4:00 p.m. the day of the Parks, Recreation and Intergenerational Services Commission meeting will be provided to the full Commission and staff prior to the meeting. These comments will not be read aloud during the meeting.
